The Portuguese Atlantic islands

Eager to join us on an adventurous expedition in the heart of the Atlantic Ocean, straight into the dreamy Azores islands?

Considering an average speed of 6 kts, the passage will take around 5 days. Nevertheless, since we prefer to guarantee a good weather window to go, you will need to book 10 days of your time to opt in.

If we arrive to the Azores a bit earlier we can visit Pico or São Jorge, before heading into the Fail Island and Horta Marina. Once in Horta there will be some time to visit the famous Peter´s Café and taste the popular gin tonic.

This is a qualifying passage for your Yachtmaster course.

3. Course combination options

You can combine this expedition with the following courses available at our school:

IYT
:
Yachtmaster Coastal

What's the plan?

A plan is just a plan. We like to sail, we don't like to motor, so things could get off track sometimes. As sailors we are always depending on the weather conditions, everything is uncertain.

Nevertheless, here is the plan for the expedition:

Day 1

Check in, boat check, safety check, passage planing

Day 2-6

Passage Funchal - Horta

Day 7-9

Expeditions in the Azores

Day 10

Check out

If you want to know more details about the plan and destinations please contact us here.
